Perfecting the Kettlebell Snatch
The kettlebell snatch is an iadvance kettlebell exercise and should be an integral part of any kettlebell workout session. However, it is also difficult to master and you can easily injure yourself if you have not mastered the technique correctly. The snatch utilizes several muscles in one go (like most kettlebell exercises) and you can strain a muscle if your form is not correct.

It is therefore advisable to take it slow and learn the basic kettlebell moves before you try out the snatch as part of kettlebell courses Japan.

Doing the Snatch the Right Way

Don’t rush into practising the snatch right away; the longer you practise the other fundamental kettlebell movements, the easier it will be for you to do you snatch perfectly. Go through your kettlebell courses Japan for at least six to eight months under a certified instructor so as to make your snatches more productive and safe. This will be tauht to you during your kettlebell instructor course.

A Few Guidelines before you Begin with your Kettlebell Snatch

The uplift of the kettlebell in a snatch is not done the same way as in a swing. While in the swing, your arms are always maintained in a straight position, the snatch is done with a broken arm with your elbows leading the way upward.

This is because in the swing, the kettlebell reaches till your eye-level while in a snatch; you have to lock the kettlebell overhead. If you try to position the kettlebell overhead with a straight arm, the kettlebell can bang against your forearm and hurt it.

While doing the snatch, remember that your hand should stay in same position vis-a-vis your arm during the entire movement. At the topmost position when the kettlebell is locked overhead, the palm of your hand should be facing forward. It stays the same way while the kettlebell is being brought downward with your hand pointed down. At the bottom-most position, you may rotate your arm slightly but your palm should still be positioned forward.

Kettlebell snatches are high repetition, ballistic movements that require great strength, endurance and stamina. Once you are comfortable training with kettlebells, you can begin doing your snatch with a moderate weight such as a 24 kg kettlebell.

Doing twenty snatches in a minute with such a weight can add to an overload of up to 2400 kg in just five minutes. This means you not only improve on stamina and endurance but also get to burn loads of fat in very short time during your kettlebell certification Japan.

Doing the Perfect Kettlebell Snatch
Begin by doing a hip hinge and placing the kettlebell between the feet. Keep your head high with your eyes looking straight ahead. Now lift the kettlebell and swing it back through your legs with your arms just brushing the inside of your groin. Reverse direction of kettlebell and thrust it forward. Now with a ballistic force of your hips, drive the kettlebell upward.

Once the kettlebell reaches your shoulder level, rotate the hand and punch hard straight up. Use the accelerated momentum to absorb the weight of the kettlebell as it is locked overhead.
